The Lancashire Fusiliers: The roll of honour of the Salford Brigade 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th and 21st Lancashire Fusiliers" by Montague Barlow
A volunteer has now digitised this book. He is in the midst of creating an index prior to the data being put on to CD. I will post any updates on this thread as and when I am given the information.

Colin,
The simple answer is I don't know. I have asked at the library - they do not seem to know. I have emailed the volunteer who was doing the ebook - no response. There may be a hidden agenda that I am unaware of... Salford Library holding it back for release on a specific date during the Centenary commemorations, they may have decided to sell to a distributor for resale.
I will see if I can get a definitive answer when I visit the library on Wednesday evening.

Colin,
I have been informed that there isn't a hidden agenda. The library have also tried to contact the volunteer without success, they are considering restarting the project.

Nice to get it for July 1, 2016.... Not that I wish to wait but that issue date would be very meaningful.
Thanks for checking. I will keep looking in for updates :-)

Shred - I see that the recent FMP link to the Salford Pals (elsewhere on this site) used this record as their basis for info. Is that perhaps the reason why this fund raiser project fell through? Is it possible that FMP would have established copyright by digitizing an OOP book. Just wondering if there are any updates to the project. The value in getting an electronic copy of Barlow would extend to the platoon photos being available.
Cheers

Colin,
I do not have access to FMP so I cannot check which records they are using as the source.
The Salford History Library has recently purchased new equipment (lottery grant) to aid in the digitisation of the numerous images they hold. One piece of equipment is a copy stand on which you can mount a DSLR. I have asked and been granted permission to use this and I will attempt to get the book done over the coming months. Please consider that the images will then be required to be resized/compressed in to a manageable size, cropped, sorted in to order and stitched together, and we are currently trying to help with 3 other projects, so this will not be a priority.
We will get this done.
