On Soldiers Wills if you put 'TIMILTY & 1917' into the search engine, it shows a will for John who died 28/04/1917. Now they do cost £10 and sometimes it is just a little scarp of paper with a few words on but other times it can give you a great deal of info. It's the luck of the draw i think? Ben

Hi again, thanks for the extra info. I'll check out Soldiers Wills over the weekend and see what they come up with. I actuality remember one of his brothers when I was very young, it was Bernard Timilty. I knew him as 'uncle Timmy'. The story was he lied about his age and joined up at 14/15, and discharged as a sergeant after getting a 'Blighty'. Well he got blown up and suffered shrapnel wounds. If it's of any interest, I'll pass on any info I find out.

Recently found this is my family. Wilfred was my great great uncle. Two of Wilfred's brothers fought in WWI. One was killed / died of his wounds. Another, my uncle Timmy (Bernard Timiy) survived. He recived the military medal, I vividly remember him from when I was a kid. He died when I was about 12 ish , about 1987. It's a great thing to know about my family. Makes me very proud of their sacrifice.

Thanks for posting a picture, it's great to put a face to his name. Had he of lived he would have a nephew who was named after him. I found out he was buried in Moston cemetery, we can't work out why. I'm sure there wasn't any family connection to that area. Also conducting a little investigation into my grand family. My great grandfather was called Albert Percival, he had both legs amputated after getting gangrene from injuries sustained in battle. He lived for another fifty years. He was from Dayne St in Seedly. Originally a night watchman. Anyway thanks , very grateful for the work you out into this.

Moston Cemetery served/s as Salford's main Catholic cemetery. Did Albert Percival serve with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers? If so, his service record is available. Here is his probate entry.
