Hi,
The details below from the CWGC belong to a distant relative of mine, Ernest, who was killed in April 1918. I can't find his details on any war memorial but perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place. He lived at 108 Whit Lane.
Can anyone shed any light on this please? Thanks.

Hi Hawker Hurricane, can i ask is there anywhere on the forum that list what memorials you have access to or where they can be found? I mean on one thread listed together. Ben

Hi Ben. At present I don't think there's a definitive list of the ones found / not found / transcribed / not done, etc. It's something to look at doing and I'll look into it with the other admins. Eventually, it is hoped that the database (which is a work in progress at the moment) will be hosted and searchable on-line on a SWARM website. At present it is a 3.7Mb Excel table, and is very much under development. As to Pte. Ernest Taylor, 29370, 9th Loyals, he is commemorated on the St. Thomas, Pendleton memorial. The thread about this memorial can be found at: salfordwarmemorials.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mem&action=display&thread=259He did not appear on the 'killed' section of Whit Lane shrine, though there is an as yet unidentified "E Taylor" of the Lancashire Fusiliers in the 'served' section of this lost memorial.
