St Lukes Weaste J Wagstaff ca not link one The End of the plaque Wendy Now i am not sure if this is one and the same man, as i can't find a death that matches, but here is my best shot at him?John Wagstaff born 1888 Hulme Manchester. 1911 he is living with his sister & brother-in-law at 23 Philip St Patricroft. Sarah E Wagstaff married a Alfred Hobbs 1892 at St. Gabriel Hulme. There are two lots of service papers for this man who served in the Salford battalion Reg 12484. He seems to have been injurded and possibly died from his wounds after been discharged? There is a J Wagstaff on the Manchester employers' Roll of Honour page 563. R. J. Born at Hulme.
The SS Sea Gull was sunk 7 miles northeast of Lynas Point by the German submarine U-103 whilst carrying cargo from Le Harve to Liverpool.
