Just in case any family members see this and would like copy of George Edward Hulme service records. They can order them on line. The Canadian service records seem to be much more detailed than any British ones i have had. There can be anything up to 200 pages on any given man. One set i sent for had over 80 pages, all A3 size and cost i think about £40. This was about four years back. Click here to order his Canadian service record. The family sailed for Canada Apr 1926 . Also with younger brothers James, Edmund & daughter Betty 1911 at Grove Lane Hale. James Alfred Gaskell Hulme head born 1880 Edith Caroline Hulme nee Moon wife born 1881 Edmund son born 1909 James born 1910 Florence Alice Rudgyard nice born 1899 Ben

thanks Ben and Shred. Short service for mr Cronshaw. Lucky he wasnt posted overseas. Are the initials RNL a mistake on the part of the stonemason? Surely the Loyal North Lancs would not use RNL in this form. I have a few more names to add. Guess its ok to list here as their headstones are at st catherines. Capt Henry Whitworth 8th Batt Manc Regt. Any living members from this prominent family? thanks
