joe had enlisted shortly after the war began in the KORL AS PTE 19335,but was later discharged after he was found to be sufferiing from TB of the abdomen,in 1917 he was conscripted into the 13th kings liverpool regt after being passed by the medical officer
in 1917 he was discharged when the TB had become serious,joe applied for a disability pension,but was told that his condition wasnt the result of his service and it was refused
then in stepped the surgeon general,he firmly told them that joe had been discharged with TB and wasnt fit for any kind of service,yet the army later conscripted him,and passed him fit,despite the man showing his previous discharge papers and the cause of discharge,this man was wrongly passed by the MO and should be awarded a pension because of the hardship its caused to him THEY PAID UP ;D
joe was married to margaret in salford in 1906,he had three children,margaret,joseph+ruth and lived at 98 florian st,pendleton son of james+fanny
joe died on 26-6-1917,shortly after his pension was awarded
