Hello! Thanks again!! I'm not sure that is him as I know he lived in Eccles/Patricroft. He was born in 1894 and survived the war, he died in the 1960s. Thank you! :-) Now i think this is a different R. Darby Have you more details on your Robert/Bob? Like date of birth, if & where married/born/died Last census you have him on? Robert (Bob) Darby and his brother, George Henry Darby. are named on the Bridgewater St, UMC, Roll of Honour.  I am 99% confident that the medal card posted by Ben is that of your Bob Darby. There is a service record for George Henry available for downloading from Ancestry. A few details on George: Darby, George Henry – Private Son of Robert and Christina B. Darby, of 9 Bridgewater Street, Winton, Eccles, Lancashire. Husband of Hannah Darby, of 185, Ellesmere Street, Eccles, Lancashire. Formerly 31102, Labour Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Formerly 65514, 9th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Demobilised 01 March 1919. Bob is one of the men shown in the image hereunder.
