hiya gary. sgt edward edgar dyson was shot in the head,on 23rd july 1915,he died in the 20th CCS two days later. he enlisted as edgar dyson,his service records are on ancestry,BUT theres a lot more info in them that i can post,theres his death cert,plus marriage+birth certs for what appears to be his children and grandchildren,its a goldmine for any relative who is searching for him,it would be nice to see if any of his descendants can be traced,and pass it on to them mack Cheers Mack, I have never seen so much family information in a man's record. hiya gary. service records like these are very rare,i have only seen one other like this out of all the thousands of records that ive searched through,its very likely that it was his granddaughter who inserted the BMDs in his records on a visit to kew.

hiya garry. peter cedric johnsons first name was pieter not peter,he was educated at haileybury college from 1911 till 1916,his brother william,godfrey attended the school between 1907 and 1911,henry the oldest brother,was educated at a private school in southport,their other brother capt alfred,earlam johnson,1/5th manchesters,was badly wounded at gallipoli on 4th june 1915,luckily he recovered from his wounds,but he was no longer fit for active service and posted to the 53rd manchesters in england,there was a 5th brother but he was spared the carnage of WW1 because he was only 10yrs old,their grandfather was the mine owner james,henry johnson of 73 albert st,southport,when he died on 21st june 1897,he left a massive £303486 pieter was born on 18-7-1898,william,godfrey on 7-4-1893
