Meetings have been held, words have been spoken. The church wish to honour the original intention of those who created the memorial which would have been that it should be located in a Church building.
A brief ceremony will be held to rededicate the memorial.
Date and time to be arranged.

Taken from the Salford Reporter
Private A Garner, The parents of Private Archibald Garner who live at 17 Duffield Rd, the Height have received official intimation of his death in the action of the Somme on November 13. Just thirteen months ago, along with his brother Cecil, he joined the Argyll and Sutherlandshire Regiment. Two other boys of the same family are serving with the colours, one with the Royal Marine Artillery and the other is with the Rifle Brigade. Archibald Garner, who was 27 years of age, was educated at the Higher Grade School in Gardner St, Pendleton, and for many years was a much respected member of the Methodist Free Church at the Height, where he was a Sunday School teacher. In a letter to the deceased sister, Miss Garner, Lieutenant J Marshall says - I remember your brother well, as likewise his brother Cecil who, I understand, is now in hospital in England. I trust you have good news of him. It seems but yesterday that the third brother , who is in the RMA... came to visit his two brothers in our Battalion. Well do I remember their mutual joy at the unexpected re-union. Kindly accept my sincere appreciation of a good and cheery soldier and I hope you may find solace and consolation in the knowledge that he died as a true soldier and faithful patriot, with the face to the foe.
