William Finley Machine Gun Corp Joining in June 1916 he went overseas 6 months later and saw active srevice in France and Flanders.He did good work with his section at the battle of The Somme , Bullecourt and Ypres. He was gassed in July 1917 on his recovery he returned to to the forward areas and served in various parts of the British Front until the end of the war.He was demobbed in March 1919. He holds gerneral service and victory medals 17 Garden Lane Salford

Harold is correct but I believe that the Charles named is his father as shown in this article.
Charles (9312, Royal Field Artillery) died at St Annes on Sea on either the 4/5 April 1915. He is buried in Weaste Cemetery.
