pte 2947 john,heap sidebotham enlsted 25-11-1914 aged 21 2/5th manchesters married mabel gaskell at southport weslyan chapel on 6-3-15 transferred to 18th manchesters on 20-9-16[renumbered 43810] killed 22 days later on 12-10-16 at flers
1728 george cottom lived at 64 mitchell st,monton he was a original member of F.coy,1/5th manchesters who drilled at the drill hall on cromwell rd,eccles his pal,1526 george,william shepherd was also one of the originals and worked at the loco sheds with him when war was declared,F.coy amalgamated with the wigan coy to form C.coy,1/5th manchesters
33105 owen,elias jones 14 elm st,patricroft shot in the back on 3rd july 1916,he was patched up at the 104th field ambulance and 2 days later sent back to his battalion,he was killed 17 days later
