Do it yourselves. We went in September, two people, one car, for two nights, £109 each including accommodation and ferry but not including petrol.
Cheers Pete

The accommodation was fantastic. They also did an evening meal for £10, breakfast £4.50 and pack-ups £4. The £109 covered accommodation and ferry. The tesco points suggestion would make it even cheaper.
Cheers Pete ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, but Pete all in, your only looking at about £170, and if we take a few, what a great few days away, and a well worth holiday, instead of lying on a beach

I have been to the Somme 3 times. Twice I have stayed in Gites - both have been really nice, the last one was between Thiepval and Beaumont Hamel, so right in the middle of the battlefield. The other time I stayed in Formule 1's which are a cheap version of Travel lodges. 2 - 3 people per room and costs around £22 per night per room.
Norfolk line charge around £60 per car of 5 for a return.

I was planning on going in February on my own for a bit of an adventure but if we can get a few of us I would rather go with friends

Definitely be interested in going with a group of friends. Just need to find some friends to go with! I've just filled in the on-line application to start the ball rolling on getting my first-ever passport! Well, like my old Cub Scout motto said, Be Prepared!
