No 82108 10th Battalion Cheshire Regiment.
Killed in action in France august 1st 1917.
age 33 years.
1st Somme battle July to November 1916.2nd began March 21 1918 approx 2000 casualties.
A memorial plaque is sited at the Ypres (Menin Gate) Ypres (Now Leper) which is a town in the Province of West Flanders. The memorial is situated at the eastern side of the town on the road to Menin(menen) and courtrai(Kortrijk)
The Menin Gate is one of four memorials to the missing in Belgian Flanders which covers the area known as Ypres Salient.

Charles Edwards birthdate recorded at his christening at St Clements Church ,Ordsall , Salford on14 January 1885 was 24 November 1884.
This being the case , when he signed up in 1900 for the Manchester Regiment he was actually only 16 years old not 18.
