Tony,
How do you know there was a military funeral? Family word of mouth or is there a newspaper article stating so?

Brother of your 1911 man? Name: Joseph Henry O'Neill Birth Place: Salford, Lancs Death Date: 9 Aug 1915 Death Place: Gallipoli Enlistment Place: Manchester Rank: Private Regiment: Loyal North Lancashire Regiment Battalion: 6th Battalion Regimental Number: 11652
Nothing for Arthur on 1918 Salford absent voters. Nothing in local papers for Arthur or Joseph.
Still cannot prove that the Arthur O'neill is the same man who died in 1933.

It just shows he was awarded the British & Victory medals. Ben

Tony,
If he was a career soldier he may have stayed with the Army until after 1920 meaning that his service record may be with the MOD. Failing that his death certificate may give some clues.
