First of all, its good to be back after a very busy couple of years, and getting my email address hacked, APOLOGIES IF IT CAUSED ANY PROBLEMS OK , on information given to me I am searching for a James W Taylor, who family say served in the Boer war with the Manchester rifles up to 1906 and then in ww1 ending up a Lieutenant, and a commandant in a German POW site somewhere in the uk ? unable to find A INDEX CARD with any information for ww1 so he might not have gone over, he was born in IRLAM O' TH HEIGHTS, and in the Church Lad's Brigade born abt 1880? -x5 years, I cannot find anything on ancestry, so any help greatly appreciated , TONYROD1
A LITTLE UPDATE, he had a son called John Anthony Taylor,and grandson the same name

Thank you shred, I have seen that since I posted the update,I can see were the family member might have the info slightly mixed up, I would say that is the family, I will see if I can trace anything from this on the 1901 census,

ok more info found all fits with the 1911 census, but nothing on the Boer war ?

I am sure that this is Ann on the 1901 census, living as Saxby St (very close to Bolton Rd) with her sister Esther G Worsley. Is James not named because he was serving in South Africa?
