Does anyone know of Albert Parkinson of Irlam Square, Salford, & his brother Harry, of Eldon St, Salford 6, who were in Stalag VIIIB POW camp in WW2 with my late dad above. Any relevant info from their families or others much appreciated please ...?

Welcome to the forum stalagxx1b. Hereunder is an image taken from the Eccles Journal - 1940 - it names two of the men as Harry & Albert Parkinson. Both men are Fusiliers (I presume Lancashire Fusiliers). Could these be the men that you are looking for information on? If so, I can get a better image and see if any extra information is available when I next visit the library.

Hi shred. Although unable to make Albert out, it's definitely the brothers in question, as I have a POW photo of the 3 of them. We now know they were Fusiliers, thanks to you! Cheers for your help - much appreciated.

I can't make out the cap badge of Albert from the photo but Harry's badge is definitely the Lancashire Fusiliers.

Hi shred, thanks again - all very useful info. Can you tell me which Salford library holds this WW2 info please? We have a cutting- presume from newspaper / ?Eccles Journal etc, which shows R Gray, A & H Parkinson as POWs, which we cannot find at present, and want to obtain a copy of. Regards & thanks.
