Hi Poppy, Welcome to the forum. I am sure that I can see his name listed on the Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Oxford Road, Chorlton-On-Medlock. Take a look here and let us know if it is his name. Good luck, Garry

Hi & welcome Poppy. I agree with you Gary, it looks like E.Sale of the memorial at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Oxford Road. Also might be worth you contacting the Salford diocese archives, to see if they can help with more info as it looks like he was R.C. Diocesan archive address: St Augustine’s Grosvenor Square All Saints Manchester M15 6BW Tel: 0161 236 6762 They are open to the public Tuesday afternoon's Ben

Hi Poppy, Edward was a member of the Bugle Band of the 21st (Service) Battalion (6th City) of the Manchester Regiment (one of the Manchester City Pals battalions). He is one of the men in the photo in the attached link. Unfortunately, it is not possible to identify him: themanchesters.org/forum/index.php?topic=4691.0Hope this helps Pete
