A search has been launched to find the descendants of 16 WW1 honoured on a church memorial.
St. John's Church in Brooklands, Sale, is home to a blue and gold memorial commemorating the men from the parish who perished during the conflict.
Parishioner Mike Lawrence has already researched the service records of all the men, but now he would like to find out what happened to their families and who they were.
Mike said, 'We would love to hear from anyone who may be a descendant or related in some way.
Every year we honour those men recorded on our memorial, but we would dearly love to know more about their lives before the war, about the lives of their families afterwards.'
The church hopes to make permanent displays of all the information they find, to serve as a lasting memorial for the community and as a further tribute to the men.
The display will form part of the church's ongoing commemoration marking the centenary of the beginning of the First World War.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Mike Lawrence on m.lawrence93@ntlworld.com
