As a Church we celebrate our centenary in the same year as a nation we start to commemorate the 100 years since the start of the First World War. We as a Church and Community will commemorate this time during the year with special services and events.
We begin this commemoration on Sunday 3rd August with a Evening Vigil Service the day before War was announced on the 4th August. During this service four candles are extinguished in remembrance of Foreign Secretary Edward Grey's comment "The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again in our time."
