Hi folks,
Need some general info on the Service Record of John Henry Boler (b.1881 Salford) , but its naval and not army.
It states under Date & Period of S.S. Engagement: 10/05/1904 - 5+7 years. Does this mean he served 5 years and then 7 years?
The S.R. shows all the ships he served on and ends with 10/05/1909.
There is an annotation at the bottom: Joined R. ? R. Portsmouth B.3129 - 11/05/1909.
I ask the question as he had a daughter in 1913 and sometime afterwards disappeared never to be seen again, except at the funeral of his wife in 1928 and then disappeared again. Sometime after 1913 his wife had him pronounced dead and remarried in 1920.
I was also wondering if he re-joined again, but the N.A. have only this one record. Cannot find a D.C for him either.
