WW1 and Back – a Salford Story – B A Lightfoot Swinton & Pendlebury Local History Society Lancastrian Hall, Swinton. Monday 18th March 2013 at 10.00am
Hi All, I am the guest speaker next Monday at the Swinton & Pendlebury LHS meeting talking about Salford in WW1 and the 1920s. This is a massive subject but I will just be focusing mainly on the effects of the war on the local population. There will be some pictures to accompany this but, if the computer/projector system doesn’t work, then it will come down to me chatting and waving my hands around a lot. It is an open invitation so everyone is welcome, not just members of the LHS, to come along and the admission is free. If anybody would like to join us, the doors open at 9.30am to give chance for a reviving cup of tea. There are a number of car parks around and a good bus service. The Lancastrian Hall is facing the Salford Town Hall and is at the bottom of Station Road. It will be nice to see you if you can make it. B.A. Lightfoot
