I was in Salford recently for the day and managed to trace the Burton family grave in Peel Green Cemetery. Robert John Burton's grave has been found! It was overgrown and against the cemetery fence but has a substantial headstone.
I did get a picture but as a technophobe I cannot upload it to this thread! I have tried to send a message with the photo attached to Shred but not sure if he received it?

Neil has been very busy researching his Burton family. A distant relative recently sent these picture of Robert Burton.

Hi Shred, the Verger at Saint Augustines contacted us on Sunday to say that he had found the exact location where the grave of Robert Edward Burton was. It was on the other side of the tree/shrub and he moved the flowers and the RBL poppy cross to it. We went over later on sunday afternoon and had a look, it was approximately 50 feet from where we had guestimated during the monsoon conditions on Saturday! It was great to finally meet up with you and have a chat, thanks for the advice and tips about the National Records Office in London.

Yes, it was great to meet you too. Did you receive the email that I sent with the erroneous report of death attached?
