Barry, it gets worst when you look up and a full family of son's and father are all listed and then out of interest you look up how things turned out for them only to find that many either died or were as Tony said badly wounded. Not just fiscally but mentally. We can never thank them enough for what they went through or as many of our lads are still going through. Click here and you see what i mean

Yes Ben, I was fortunate in that the four family members I did know came through their wars in fine fettle, My Grandad Joe, my dad even though he went through the hell of Arnhem and a POW camp, his brother Ted who fought in the middle East and my uncle Wilf who was in the RAF air sea rescue and won the AFM.
I spent 5 years in the RAF and then did service in the Aussie Army but was fortunate that I didn't have to go through what they went through.
