hello, all. during a recent emptying of my mothers bungalow, with her going into a care home,I found a tin with a few wartime papers and in it were things I`d never seen before, there were 2 very poignant letters from my dad to mam which I think need to be read by other people ,they put everything in perspective. I have my mothers full permission .My dad was Sidney John Thomason snr. there are also a couple of photos of him following.I am also sending a poem written by my dad and printed on small cards, lots of these were put on sale in my grandads shop for 1d each in aid of the Red Cross,a great many were sold He died in february 1991,I enclose his last thoughts. Enjoy.
For continuity I have merged your two posts in to one thread. I hope this is OK with you? I have sent you a PM (private message that only you can read), it should say at the top right hand of the page "Hey, billtinadat, you have 1 message, 1 are new" just click on the "1 message" to read it.
The letter suggests that Sid was a very caring and brave man. May he rest in peace.
