Private 8850 Harry Wilkinson, 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, was killed on 10 November 1914. His body was only recovered in 2001 and was buried in Prowse Point Cemetery. He came from Bury, Lancs. His remains were discovered at Ploegsteert Wood, Belgium. Soldier's remains continue to be found each year. Attachments:

Spanbroekmolen crater, the largest of the 19 mines exploded on 7th June 1917 at the start of the assault on Messine Ridge. Attachments:

The Xmas Truce Tree marks the approximate location of the informal Xmas truce in 1914, when British and German troops met in no man's land to swap gifts and play football. The British Army Generals were horrifed by this and made sure it never happened again. Anymore of this type of behaviour and the war might come to an end! "Maintaining an offensive spirit" became the catchphrase. At the base of the cross there are footballs that have been left by various groups including English schools. Attachments:
