At the date of posting this message there is a post card for sale on ebay that shows a young child stood below a memorial believed to have been sited at Dalton Street in Eccles. After a quick search I noticed a thread on the Great War Forum which shows the same post card and some close ups of the memorial. I have sent a message to the member of that forum asking for permission to use his images. Fingers crossed that we receive a positive response.
Hello, Would this be DALTON STREET SALFORD by any chance. I can see a T SHAW on the image. my grandfather of Dalton street salford. could this be Salford and not Eccles. I can not see it very clearly though. Any ideas ? Eileen
